Metadata Panels
The Metadata Panels plugin extends the Metadata section
within Lightroom's Library module. It adds a number of
pre-defined metadata layouts (tagsets) that configure how much of an image or
video's metadata is visible at a time. These new layouts have been
designed to help focus on the important metadata when photographers are
performing key tasks such as managing copyright and model releases for their
digital assets.
The plugin implements the following tagsets for Lightroom 2 and above:
Creator |
Adds a new tagset for maintaining information about the
contributors to an image or video and the status of their copyright. |
Default (Extended) |
Extends the standard 'Default'
tagset with additional IPTC location and IPTC Extension fields. |
Find Similar |
Adds a new tagset for finding photos sharing the same
metadata values as the current image. |
Location (Extended) |
Extends the standard 'Location'
tagset with the relevant IPTC Extension fields and Jeffrey Friedl's
GPS plugin fields. |
Workflow |
Adds a new tagset for utilising the workflow related IPTC
and IPTC Extension fields. |
It also implements the following tagsets for Lightroom 3 and above:
EXIF and IPTC (Extended) |
Extends the 'EXIF and IPTC'
tagset to include the new IPTC Extension fields. |
IPTC (Extended) |
Extends the 'IPTC' tagset to
include the new IPTC Extension fields. |
People |
Adds a new tagset for working with details of
people/models and organisations visible within an image or video. |
Releases |
Adds a new tagset for working with model and other
releases relevant to the image or video. |
It also implements the following tagsets for Lightroom 4 and above:
Audio Only |
Adds a new tagset for working with only the audio aspects
of a video. |
Video (Extended) |
Extends the 'Video' tagset to
include other relevant EXIF and IPTC fields. |
Video Only |
Adds a new tagset for working with only the visual
aspects of a video |
This plugin makes use of the new fields introduced by each version of
Lightroom to enhance existing as well as add new tagsets. For example, the
Lightroom 2 compatible Default (Extended) tagset will offer
support for a greater range of metadata when the plugin is run within Lightroom
3 or later.
Payment and Updates
The trial version displays a notice in the Metadata panel to indicate it is
unregistered. Donating to the plugin will give you a registration code that will
remove this notice. All future updates are free.
